This post includes several free Bible study printable worksheets to help you in studying God’s Word.

Have you been searching for some worksheets to accompany you in your Bible reading plans? Or maybe you just desire a little structure in your Bible study routine in order to stay focused.

Well, great news! I’ve put together a several free worksheets that you can download and print as many times as you want!

Use them to create a study workbook for your own daily life or share with the ladies in your small groups.

However you choose to use them, I hope that these Bible study printables will be a great way to deepen your understanding of the Word of God!

Bible Study Methods

When it comes to studying God’s word, there are several tried and true methods out there, such as ACTS, SOAP, and Verse Mapping. You’ll find printables for all 3 of these in this post!

A.C.T.S Bible Study Printable

When it comes to the A.C.T.S method, I’ve realized there are two different ways this acrostic is used. One is to assist in prayer and the other is to help in Bible study. I’ve included a printable for both of these.

ACTS Prayer Model

First, you have the ACTS Prayer Model.

For this method, I select a passage, read it, think on it, and then pray over it following these prompts:

• Adoration – Take this time to praise God for who He is.
• Confession – Confess to the Lord the areas of your life that you are struggling in.
• Thanksgiving – Give thanks to God for the things He has done.
• Supplication – End with humbly and earnestly asking God to meet your needs and the needs of others.

This printable would actually work well in a prayer journal.

ACTS Study Method

The next is the ACTS Bible Study Method. You are going to select a passage of scripture daily, usually one chapter at a time. For really long chapters, you could even split them in half.

This acrostic is very simple to remember:

• Ask – Start in prayer, asking God for direction and wisdom in understanding the Word you are about to read.
• Chapter – Read through the chapter carefully, maybe even a couple of times.
• Think – Reflect on what you’ve just read. If needed, look up unknown words in a reliable dictionary to deepen your understanding.
• Scripture – Write down the scripture that stood out to you the most. Take time to pray over this scripture before you close out your study time.

I recommend working through an entire book of the Bible, chapter by chapter with this method. This allows you to get a good overall understanding of a book instead of bouncing from place to place.

SOAP Bible Study Printable

This next Bible study worksheet aligns with the SOAP method. There are two options for this printable.

The first option looks like this:

Option two has thought-provoking questions that align with the SOAP method:

• Scripture – Select a passage of scripture to reflect on. Read it and rewrite it, or a portion of it.
• Observation – Take this time to reflect on what this passage tells you about God’s character. This may not be apparent at first read and take some time to think over. If you’re struggling with seeing God’s character in scripture, a list of God’s attributes may be helpful to use alongside.
• Application – Now that you’ve reflected on who God is, take time to think about how these truths apply to your life. For example, if you’ve just reflected on how Gods sovereignty, how does that affect the issue you or someone else has been struggling with.
• Prayer – Finally, end in prayer.

Verse Mapping

The final Bible study worksheet is for verse mapping.

I’ve found that verse mapping is the best way to get a true understanding of what God says about specific topics.

For example, if you’re curious on what the Bible says about patience, find verses relating to this subject. You can do this by finding a topical Bible reading plan online.

You would then dig deeper into a specific verse. Do this by looking up other translations, cross reference verses, and definitions for unknown words. If you have a trusted commentary, refer to it. Really dig deep into the verse to understand the context that it was written in and what God is saying in it.

Bible Study Resources

Now that you have your printables, I’m going to link a few of the great resources that I’ve found to be a tremendous help in my Bible study time. Thankfully there are tons of additional resources available to us – and a lot of them are online for free!

Free Resources

• YouVersion Bible App – The first thing, and only thing, you need to study your Bible is the scriptures themselves. God’s Word tells us that scripture is “living and active”. The Holy Spirit will lead and direct you in your Bible reading time. This app is so useful for consulting various translations, finding a reading plan, or short bible study.
• Biblestudytools.com – This website has so many free resources – from dictionaries, to commentary, and even audio books! I love using this site when I need verses related to different topics. It really is a one stop shop for Bible study tools.
• BlueletterBible.org – Another incredibly helpful website full of Bible study resources. I particularly like the search function on this website. You can search a specific word in a translation, and it will bring up all the verses it is used in. You can then see what word was used in the original language and what that word meant. You’ll sometimes find that the original language had a different meaning to it!
• Podcasts – Podcasts are another free and helpful resource for Bible study and Christian living. I have another post where I share some of my favorite Bible study podcasts here.

Paid Resources

• Study Bible – A study Bible is a Bible that has notes throughout explaining the context of the scriptures (when it was written, who it was originally written to, etc.). It’s pretty much just a little commentary sprinkled throughout the texts.
• Bible from She Reads Truth is beautiful, has space for note taking, devotionals, and reading plans included. It has been one of my favorite gifts to receive from a friend. Sometimes, as Christian women, we just want something pretty and functional – and this Bible is that!
• Timelines and Dictionaries – Sometimes we just need some more detail to understand why things were the way they were in Biblical times. This book of Bible charts, maps, and timelines will give you more insight into the culture and location of Biblical events. If you’re a visual person like me, you may also love having this illustrated Bible dictionary on hand.
