Why Start a 30-Day Challenge

Participating in a challenge like this is a great way to start forming good habits. It is also a great way to break some bad habits you may have. After doing the same thing for an entire month (or not doing something), you’ve got a great start on forming new daily habits.

It also serves as a powerful tool to increase focus and discipline. Having a short window of time to make progress will give you a little motivation to stay on track.  So, if you’ve been dragging out some big projects that need to be finished, maybe setting a 30-day period to work on it is just what you need!

How to Use a Your Printable Tracker

This free printable 30-day challenge tracker is set up with a few different sections.

At the top, you’ll notice a place to write down the goal as well as the reason you’re starting the challenge! Taking a few minutes to think about exactly why you’re wanting to work on this goal will serve as motivation on the hard days. So don’t skip this step.

Below this, there is a small box for each day. This box is large enough to make a quick note of how the day went. Taking a few minutes to revisit your progress each day is another way to stay motivated.

At the end of the month, you can look back over your notes and celebrate your success!

Tips for Success

In order to get the best results from your monthly challenges, here are a few of my favorite tips!

Have an Accountability Partner

The best way to stick to your challenge is to do it with someone else! You’ll increase your chances of success by having

Have a Plan

When choosing your challenge, go ahead and also select a small block of time to complete the challenge each day. This is especially helpful for things like a workout challenge or reading challenge. Choose a time of day that you can consistently show up.

Start Small

Just because it’s a challenge, doesn’t mean you have to do something drastic. After all, improving a small area of your life will have positive effects on your day to day living. It’s more important to select a realistic, small goal that you can actually complete verses an unattainable goal.

Check in Frequently

If you’re not going to have an accountability partner, you at least need to check in on your progress daily. That’s exactly what the free printable in this post is for. Daily check-ins keep you motivated to stay the course!

Ideas for Your Challenge Tracker

The great thing about this free printable calendar, is that you can set it up for any specific goal you want to work towards. There are a lot of little things you can work on as well as some big challenges. Here are a few different themes for making your own 30-day challenge:

Heatlh & Fitness Goals

Running Challenge – Work towards increasing your speed and/or distance.

30 Day Exercise Challenge – Challenge yourself to show up & be active every single day to improve your physical health.

Healthy Eating – Choose a specific area of your nutrition to work on. This could be increasing your water intake, cutting back on processed foods, or eating more protein.

Household Goals

Decluttering Challenge – This is a favorite of mine! Go area by area, or just set a number of items to declutter each day. After 30 days, your house is going to feel tidier and less stressful. You can also do a digital declutter. Remove social media accounts you no longer want to follow. You can also work on cleaning out your email and unsubscribing to newsletters.

Cleaning – After you declutter all the things you don’t need, pick a new area of your house to deep clean for 30 days straight.

Personal Growth Goals

Gratitude Challenge – Take time each morning to reflect on things you are thankful for. This is a habit that I hope you’ll be able to carry past 30 days! You can write it down or just reflect on it mentally.

Reading – If you’ve been struggling to find the time (or desire) to read, challenge yourself to a set amount of time to dedicate to reading each day!

Journaling Challenge – Journaling is such a good way to slow down and just think about our lives. You can even use these free printable prayer journaling pages!

Prayer – Dedicate 30 days to praying diligently. You may have a specific need to pray for, or you may just need to get in a better prayer routine.

Acts of Kindness – Spend the next 30 days blessing different people with random acts of kindness.

New Skill – Work on developing a new skill! This can be anything and everything. Want to learn to calligraphy? How to sew? A new language? Set aside a little time each day to work on this skill. At the end of 30 days, you’ll be surprised at how much progress you’ve made!

Budget Goals

No Spend – Need to scale back your spending habits? Challenge yourself to no spending for 30 days! You’ll only spend money on the necessities (utilities, food, gas) during this time period.

Savings Challenge – This can be done so many different ways! You can set aside a specific amount of money to move to savings each day. Any amount works – $1, $5, $10 – it just depends on your financial situation. You can also do this hand in hand with the no spend challenge. Whatever money you don’t spend each day – move to savings!
