Hey friends! I’m back today with another free planner printable. This time, it’s a weekly planning tool, to help you manage that busy schedule for the entire week!
I personally made these printable calendars to use to make a Charlotte Mason timetable (my fellow homeschoolers probably know what this is). But it can really be used by anyone who needs to lay out their entire week, complete with daily tasks. This printable is perfect for creating a work schedule for the office or a home schedule for productivity.

How to Use Printable Weekly Planner with Time Slots
The first step is to select which planner you want to use. The two printables in this post both offer a simple layout, one is just horizontal and the other vertical. Choose which layout works best for you and print it out.
Next, you’re going to set up your planner. I’ve already done the daily labeling for you, so you’ll just need to fill in the time periods and task lists. But for now, let’s start with time.
Time Periods
Each page has 28 time slots. Based on what time you need the schedule to start and end will determine how long each time block can be.
For example: You need your daily schedule to run from 6 AM to 9 PM, that’s 14 hours. You can layout your printable planner in 30 minute time blocks.
If you’re using the weekly schedule planner for something like a homeschool schedule, you may only need to cover the time period lessons are being done. So if you do 9 AM to 2 PM, that’s 5 hours. You can easily use 15 minute time blocks on your schedule!
If you find that you need more space each day, simply print two copies of the planner to extend the time.
Daily Planning
This is where you’re going to fill in all of those weekly tasks. When setting up your daily schedule, I would recommend starting with things that already have a set time, like an appointment or class schedule. From there, you’ll be able to easily see what the rest of your day looks like to work in those other daily commitments.
From here, you can then reference your weekly to-do list and start filling in the remaining time slots. I would start with the top priorities, and then work in those optional items that you’re hoping to get it.
Just remember not to overschedule your days. When you have a schedule that you can never stick to, it will end up having a negative effect on you. You’ll start to feel like you’re falling behind, when in reality, you just have an unrealistic schedule.
Color Coding Your Week
This is an optional step, but it really is a helpful way to see exactly what you have going on. By color coding different activities, you can take a quick glance and see exactly what your full week consists of!
Here’s a few of my favorite planning supplies:
- Planner Pens – I love having good colored pens to write with. My personal favorite right now are these Mr. Pen gel pens. I love the matte color and how smooth they write.
- Highlighters – Colorful highlighters are fun and practical when planning. You can color code different categories using these Mr. Pen colored highlighters.
- Binder for DIY Planner – I love using free printables to make my own DIY planners. These 3 ring binders are cute and perfect for this.
Weekly Review
At the end of the week, review your prior week schedule. For some of us, we will be able to reuse our schedule multiple times or just make small adjustments. But you may find that you need a clean slate. That’s why I love a free weekly schedule template. You can use it over and over again, for no extra cost!
And remember, it won’t be perfect. Even if you update your schedule every week, there are still going to be things that pop up that you didn’t plan for. So even though having a plan is a great idea, just be prepared for life to happen and the possibility of having to change things up.
Benefits of Using a Weekly Hourly Planner
I always promote the use of planners because of their benefits. Here are a few of the ways weekly hourly planning is beneficial.
Create Better Habits and Meet Goals – Hourly planning helps you set a specific time each day to work on those new habits and goals you’ve been trying to meet.
Less Stress – Having a structed plan can reduce anxiety and overwhelm. You can be confident that you’re doing the things you need to do, and not forgetting things.
Maximizes Productivity – Here’s what I’ve found. If I have a plan, with a waiting list of things to accomplish, I am so much more productive. But if I don’t have a plan, I’m much more likely to waste time on things that don’t produce results.
Improved Focus – You can confidently tackle one task at a time when you know that you’ve planned to handle those other things at a later time in the day.
