What are the Four Gifts of Christmas?
- Something I Want: This gift can be absolutely anything the recipient desires. It can be a video game, a new bike, a toy – whatever it is they have been longing for!
- Something I Need: This gift addresses a practical necessity. It doesn’t have to be boring though! It could be a new bat for baseball, a new instrument or art supplies. It could also be education material, such as a new board game.
- Something to Wear: This category involves gifting clothing or accessories to the recipient. It could be a stylish outfit, a cozy sweater, or a pair of shoes. If your child isn’t in need of any clothing, maybe include accessories in this category. Jewelry, hats, and handbags are all good options.
- Something to Read: Books are the primary focus of this category. It can be a novel or a series. If you don’t have an avid reader on your hands, think outside the box. Cookbooks or how-to books that relate to an interest of the recipient are good ideas.
By sticking to these four categories, it allows you to really focus in on the intentionality of gift giving. It helps ensure that you are buying gifts that are both desired and practical. This can help not only your budget, but also reduces waste of unwanted gifts.
I hope these Christmas wish lists and planner pages help you this holiday season. Merry Christmas, friends!
