Ideas for Using Your Free Printable Scripture Cards
I love doing scripture memory together as a family.
These cards can be used during your family devotional time. Or keep a card at your dining table for easy access.
Whenever the whole family is gathered at the table, spend a few minutes saying the verse together.
During the Thanksgiving season (or anytime really!) you can also ask everyone to take turns saying something they are thankful for. My kids love the “thankful game”, and it really is a beautiful way to see what your children value.
Another fun idea is to use them in your Sunday school or Bible studies. Print the set of printable scripture cards off for the ladies in your small group, and work on memorizing them together!
If you’re practicing scripture memory on your own, place the cards somewhere you will see daily. Such as your Bible, prayer journal, or places you visit frequently around the house.

My Simple Scripture Memory System
Honestly, I think access is key when it comes to scripture memory. That’s what makes these little cards perfect!
You can place them in your car, on your desk, on your bathroom mirror. Anywhere that you frequently visit, put a memory verse!
I also like to use a scripture memory card as a “bookmark” in my Bible. Then when I sit down for my Bible study time, I can take a few moments to review.
You can focus on one verse at a time or have several of your favorite bible verses printed out.
It may also help to quiz yourself on the scriptures that you have previously memorized. You can grab a cute index card organizer to keep your “mastered” verses in. Once every couple of weeks, go back and review a couple of cards to help keep it fresh in your mind!
Why practice scripture memorization?
Having verses hidden in your heart so that you can recall them in everyday life, is a great way to be filled with the peace of God.
Especially in times of trouble.
In fact, the Bible even tells us how important it is to know God’s Word.
In the book of Ephesians, the word is described as “the sword of the spirit”. When used alongside the other parts of the armor of God, we are able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
“and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God..” Ephesians 6:17
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil”. Ephesians 6:11
We also see Jesus Himself use scripture to combat the lies of Satan during temptation.
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
But not only is scripture memory a powerful tool to use in difficult times – it also a beautiful tool to help us reflect of God’s love.
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
So let us be diligent to hide God’s truth in our hearts, for good times and bad times.
